1956 PCGS / CAC MS65 Bugs Bunny FS-401 50C ~ Rare with Mint Set Toning! (bx11.69)
Our last 1956 PCGS/CAC MS65 Bugs Bunny 50C sold for $1600! Specialists concur that the vast majority of the uncirculated 1956 Bugs Bunny coins have been found in rolls, and consequently do not have any notable toning. Those found in mint sets are typically a very late die states that PCGS will not designate as FS-401. This wonderful piece is an unusual exception! Perfectly crisp, fresh, solid clash, surrounded by delightful mint set patina in rich luminescent mint green, yellow, and amber hues. Excellent luster, surface quality, and eye appeal. A true gem, and a very unusual piece for the specialist. Pop 8 with NONE finer. (An MS66FBL is listed by PCGS, but it is a different die variety with a much different, much weaker type of clash than the classic 1956 Bugs. We call the present variety the "Strong 1956," and for this variety, no examples have ever been found in FBL, or graded MS66!
CAC, or Certified Acceptance Corporation, green-stickers only coins that are solid, if not high-end for the assigned PCGS/NGC grade. CAC will gold-sticker PCGS/NGC coins they believe to be under-graded outright. The extra verification provided by CAC confirms that you aren't buying low-end material; and our specialization in high-end coins means that you will continue to see CAC stickers appearing in the inventory of DM RARE COINS!
